Join us to build a more powerful way to interact with computers
We're a funded, early-stage start-up based in SF building the world's most accurate gesture recognition technology -- think Tom Cruise in Minority-Report except without the gorilla arm. Here are some videos about what we've done so far:
http://www.youtube.com/user/3GearSystemsOur team consists of PhDs in EECS from MIT, CMU and Berkeley. Our office is near the SF Caltrain station, and we provide competitive (salary + equity) compensation packages with full health and dental. We're looking for self-motivated engineers who enjoy solving tough, open-ended graphics, vision, HCI and machine learning problems to join us to build a more powerful way to interact with computers.
Computer graphics / computer vision research engineer
You will be responsible for improving the core hand tracking and pose estimation features of our system. For instance, design and implement an algorithm to warp a skinned hand mesh to fit noisy data from a (3D) depth sensor. Build tools to collect and analyze large quantities of depth video sequences, and use that data to train sophisticated machine learning algorithms. Write custom optimizations for fitting various parametric models.
- Strong optimization or machine learning background
- Experience implementing algorithms on 3D geometry or 2D images
- Solid understanding of computer systems
- Research experience ideal
- Comfortable with C/C++
We're a start-up, so you may also have other responsibilities in development and operations, developer relations, or any other role you're willing to learn.
